Skeleton Key and tag necklace, #242

Skeleton Key and tag necklace, #242

Years ago, I opened my Etsy store with a listing for a trio of vintage metal tags. I'd found a cluster of these numbered, probably galvanized steel, numbered tags. It looks like they were made and then left in a barn for a few decades and had developed great oxidation and rust. I wasn't ready to start using them in my own work yet, (some materials will wait a very long time until they spark with something else, to create a complete piece) so it seemed only fair to offer some up to other artists. After selling through most of them, I'd kept a few for myself and finally had a couple of necklaces with them come together. This one is “#242”. The tag is combined with an antique iron key and carved mother-of-pearl button. It also has a small reproduction coin charm. The salvaged metal chains are 10” (25.5 cm) long, the key drop falls another 3” (7.5 cm) below.

I mostly work with salvaged, vintage and antique materials so it is rare that I can confirm what exactly they are made of. If I know for sure, I'll include it in the listing, but otherwise I can not tell you what is in all the components. For this reason I do not recommend any of my pieces for those with metal/chemical allergies/sensitivities OR children!

Please Note: I have tried to get pictures that are as colour accurate as possible but they may appear different than life on your monitor.

My jewellery pieces are all one-of-a-kind artworks and I can not make multiples of anything. It may be possible, depending on the design, for me to create something similar if a group is needed, but even then it will probably be a very limited number.
We have tried to do a “worst case” on the shipping prices, due to the variances in Canada Posts costs by location. We will refund any overcharges.
